Apply for a Permit

Everything you need to submit a complete permit application, forms, required documents, and what to expect.

Before You Apply

Start with the Planning Department: submit your site plan and obtain a Development Permit. Once Planning review is complete, the Building Department begins its review of your building permit application.

A Complete Application Includes

Only completed application packets will be reviewed.

  • Plans, meeting the current Florida Building Code
  • The truss package
  • Florida energy forms
  • Wind load documentation
  • Soil test / foundation plan, if applicable
  • Recorded warranty deed
  • Notice of Commencement (filed with the Clerk of Court and submitted with the application)
  • Approved Development Permit (required to obtain a septic permit)
  • Approved site plan from the Planning Department
  • Benchmark certificate, city approval, and septic approval, if applicable
