Your First Steps
- Check land use & zoning. Before you lease, buy, or build, confirm your location works for your use with the Planning Department: (850) 342-0223.
- Get your permits. Commercial construction and build-outs go through Building & Construction Permits. The Building and Planning departments coordinate commercial and business licensing within the county.
- Business permit. Complete the Business Permit Application (PDF) through the Planning Department.
- Business tax receipt. Obtain from the Tax Collector: (850) 342-0147.
- Register your business with the state at Sunbiz.org.
